If your recent searches are not showing in the search drawer, or your search alert emails are not arriving, here are the most common reasons and how to sort them.
Why recent searches are not showing in the search drawer
Recent searches are stored per browser and per session. If your recent searches are not appearing, the most likely reasons are:
- You are using a different browser or device than the one you searched on before
- You cleared your browser data or cookies, which removes stored recent searches
- You are not logged in to your Vivastreet account
Resolution: Log in to your Vivastreet account and then run your search again. Searches will be stored going forward.
Why search alert emails are not arriving
If you set up a search alert but are not receiving emails, check the following in order:
1. Spam or junk folder — alert emails sometimes get filtered. Check your spam folder and mark Vivastreet emails as safe to prevent this in future.
2. Alert confirmation — after creating an alert, you should have seen this message: "Alert created. You'll be emailed new ads matching your criteria." If you did not see this, the alert may not have saved. Try creating it again.
3. Alert criteria too specific — if your alert has a tight rate range, specific filters, and a small radius, very few listings will match — so you will receive fewer (or no) emails. This is not a fault. Try broadening your alert criteria.
4. No new listings yet — alerts only send emails when new listings are posted that match your criteria. If no new matching listings have been posted since you created the alert, you will not have received any emails yet.
How to check and manage your active search alerts
Log in to your Vivastreet account and go to your account settings. Your active alerts are listed there — you can view, edit, or delete them.
