How customers save and bookmark searches — and what it means for you

How will my clients save favourite ads

The new Search Page lets customers save searches and set up alerts. This creates a new way for customers to stay connected to listings in your category — including yours — without having to search manually every time.

How recent searches are saved automatically

When a customer performs a search, it is automatically stored in their Recent Saved Searches history within the search drawer. The next time they open the search drawer, they will see their recent searches and can tap to repeat them instantly.

This means customers who previously searched for listings in your category can get back to those results in one tap.

How customers create a search alert for your category

Customers can set up a search alert by following these steps:

1. Run a search with their preferred keyword, location, category, and filters

2. Tap "Create an alert" on the results page

3. A form opens pre-filled with their current search criteria — category, location, keyword, and filters

4. Tap Create Alert

After creating an alert, customers see a confirmation message: "Alert created. You'll be emailed new ads matching your criteria."

What this means for you: Customers who set alerts in your category will be notified automatically when you post a new listing or renew an existing one. It is a passive demand channel — you do not need to do anything extra to benefit from it.

How customers save a listing to Favourites

Logged-in customers can tap the heart icon on any listing card in search results to save it to their Favourites. They can then access their saved listings any time to review or get in touch.

If a customer is not logged in when they tap the heart icon, they are prompted to log in or create a free Vivastreet account.

How customers manage their search alerts

After creating an alert, customers can tap "Manage my Alerts" in the confirmation screen. This takes them to their Vivastreet account where they can view, edit, or delete their active alerts.
