Why was my ad refused for being in the wrong category?

Help if your ad was deleted as it was posted in the wrong part of our site.

We ask everyone to pick the best category for their ad—like "Vehicle" for a car or "Jobs" if you're recruiting for an open position. If your ad ended up in the wrong spot, we removed it. Why? Posting in the right place helps the right people find your ad and keeps our site organised and safe for everyone.

How will I know?

We'll tell you. When your ad gets rejected, you'll see a note on your screen, or we'll send an email or notification to your account. It'll say something like "wrong category" so you know what's up.

Common Causes:

It usually comes down to two issues:

  • Not checking the list: Some users don't look at all our categories and miss the perfect one for their ad.

  • Trying to game the system: A few people pick the wrong category on purpose—like posting adult content outside its zone or avoiding fees. That's not okay with us.

Picking the right category is a big deal because:

  • It helps your ad get seen: The right people—like car buyers or job seekers—look in specific categories.

  • Wrong spots hurt your ad: Posting in the wrong place can mean fewer views or annoying, off-topic replies.

  • It keeps things safe: We need to make sure content like adult (18+) adverts stay in their special categories, not scattered around.

How can I fix it?

It's an easy fix—here's what to do:

  1. Find the right category: Look at our full list and pick the one that matches your ad best. Selling a sofa? Go to "Furniture," not "Pets."

  2. There is no step 2, step 1 is all you need.

How can I boost visibility the right way?

Want more eyes on your ad? Don't play games with the system, try our visibility upgrades instead. They're a legit way to stand out, grab attention, and look trustworthy—no hassle with deleted ads required (as long as you abide by the rules). Check them out on our site.

What if I keep posting in the wrong category?

We'll give you a chance to fix it, but there are consequences if it keeps happening:

  • Ad removal: Wrong-category ads get deleted every time.

  • Account removal: If you ignore the rules a lot—especially with adult (18+) content outside its spot—we might remove your account and stop you from posting again. Shielding users from unwanted adult content is a legal requirement for us, so we take it seriously.

What if I'm not sure which category is right?

No problem at all. If you're confused or need help picking, just ask us. Hit the "Contact Us" button or email our support team with your ad details. We'll point you to the perfect category.
